The Temple’s Story

Our Story

Temple’s is located in a magnificent hardwood forest near the village of Ferguson’s Falls in the Ottawa Valley.

Since the mid-1800s a succession of families have managed the forest, harvesting timber and making maple syrup. The Temple family purchased the property in 2000 in order to expand our maple syrup enterprise.

We built an authentic timber frame restaurant using materials from local forests. It is considered to be one of the finest examples of timber frame architecture in North America. Our vision was to produce extraordinary food in a spectacular setting with all the best that Lanark County has to offer.

Our restaurant opens its doors to the public for the maple season every March and April.

In late spring when the wildflowers start to bloom, our property is transformed into a truly beautiful country wedding venue.

The property features colourful perennial gardens, manicured lawns, and tranquil forest paths.

The massive timbers, vaulted ceiling and majestic stone fireplace create a perfect backdrop for a memorable celebration with friends and family.

It became apparent early on in our history that Temple’s was more than a restaurant.

After many requests from our maple customers, we opened our doors to offer country weddings to create beautiful memories for our brides and grooms.

After ten years of experience, we have helped hundred of couples to say “I do”.
