Weddings with a maple twist

Spring is here and with it comes the reminder of why we love this time of the year so much: sweet maple syrup. At Temple’s Country Weddings, maple syrup is a big part of who we are. As an operating sugarbush, we are a wedding venue with a sweet maple twist that we love to share with our brides and grooms.

Let’s be honest: Every bride and groom want their wedding to be unique, to be a reflection of who they are as a couple. When you tie the knot at Temple’s Country Weddings, you are in the enviable position of being able to combine who you are as a couple with who we are as Canadians, by incorporating Canada’s iconic sweetener into your wedding experience.

Maple syrup has been made at Temple’s Sugar Bush for more than 150 years, and in 2000 the Temple’s family purchased the property and built a beautiful timber frame restaurant to offer brides and grooms a fantastic wedding venue, in the heart of a maple forest.

Every couple deserves a little extra sweetness on their wedding day. Here are four ways Temple’s can help bring a sweet maple twist to your special day.

Unique Wedding Favours

You will be the only one of your friends to have a wedding where maple taffy is the wedding favour! Think of all the unique things you can do with maple that your guests will love. Taffy for dessert, maple-inspired creations during cocktail hour, maple candies or individual bottles of maple syrup as wedding favours. Be creative and think of all the unique treats you can come up with that involve maple.

Vibrant Colours

Plan for your special day for fall and have an outdoor wedding just when the sugar maple forest at Temple’s Country Weddings explodes in shades of brilliant yellows, fiery reds, and rusty oranges. Think of the wedding photos you will have amidst the spectacular displays of colour nestled in a forested setting. At Temple’s you can choose to exchange vows in our timber frame building or outdoors in our beautifully landscaped garden. We also offer a secluded forest area where you can walk down the aisle as vibrant leaves drift to the ground around you. During the spring and summer months your ceremony can take place amid the lush greenery of the lawns and gardens.

Maple Cuisine

Just think of all the delicious dishes served at Temple’s that incorporate maple as an ingredient. Atlantic Salmon Skewer, poached in maple syrup, or Crisp Pork Belly with smoked paprika, maple garlic glaze, and pickled onions…mmmaple. Or how about Bacon and Smoked Cheddar dipped in maple garlic sauce? Not to mention all the yummy maple desserts. Maple is the perfect ingredient to make your wedding day that much sweeter.

Join the Sugarbush Family

Making maple syrup is a family tradition, and at Temple’s Country Weddings we carry that tradition over to our brides and grooms. When you get married at Temple’s you become part of the Temple’s Sugarbush family, welcomed back with open arms year after year after year. In March and April, Temple’s opens its doors as a restaurant specializing in maple meals, and this is a great chance to come say hi. The restaurant is open Wednesday to Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and you can order from the menu from Wednesday to Friday. Come for the Temple’s Sugar Bush sugarmaker’s buffet on weekends and holidays and indulge in everything maple with an old-fashioned sugarbush breakfast experience.
